    Possible change from Ghastine to Ghastin

    The ghastine member i know went from Italy to Argentina arround the early 1900s.

    So could there be any connection between United States Ghastin and italian Ghastine ?

    I've been looking for a different spelling of the name, since in my household, the family lore was that the name spelling was changed, by a direct ancestor. My Dad said that the ancestor was a "judge in New York". As for the Ghastine that you refer to, anything is possible, but there are records up until the very early 19th century with the spelling as Ghastin, so it would be unlikely
